‘Women in the Picture ‘ – an exhibition of images and words from Resilient Women at CoLab Exeter. Supported by Devon County Council Making the Connection Fund and Learn Devon.
The Resilient Women programme is based at CoLab Exeter and supports women on a range of issues including health, accommodation, recovery, identity and involvement in the justice system.
Women attending tell us that they suffer a loss of identity because labels are often attached to them that do not positively represent who they are. What we have learned is that by offering space that focuses on their potential and capacity for resilience, they feel stronger and more able to change their lives for the better.
With a grant from the Devon County Council Making the Connection fund, and with support from colleagues at Learn Devon, we embarked on a short photography and creative writing project that explores and celebrates resilience and identity.
The resulting exhibition ‘Women in the Picture’ will be displayed in the CoLab atrium from Weds 27 November to Friday 13 December.
The exhibition launch will take place on Wednesday 27 November at 11am. All welcome.
